The parcel label style is where you can do some powerful labeling. It will even used the user classifications for a label. So say you need a label for type of house (ranch, split level,...) You can add that to your parcel and use a parcel label to show it on your plans. Check out the vid.

Parcel Styles vid
The parcel style control the line work and shading for a parcel. It controls how will the segments of the parcel look and will there be shading of the parcel and if so what kind. You can really do some great things with this style for creating right of ways that are different than parcel segments. Or you can create hydrology basins with open space parcel that have fills.

One of the most powerful styles in Civil3D
In my opinion the label style is probably one of the most powerful styles in Civil3D. The reason being is that it has the ability to create labels for non-civil3D entities.
One of the long problems in CAD is having different scales. Say you have an overall sheet and then a blow up sheet. Some of the things shown in both sheets may need labels. So before the civil3d labels and Autocad annotation scale functionality I had to create different layers. One layer had a big label for the overall sheet and one layer had a label for the blow up. It got quite confusing.
The first time I ever saw the label style used for a generic label I could imagine why anyone would want to do such a thing. Then I saw it at work scaling and rotating. One label many different uses. This ability eliminated errors in my previous workflow. No more updating one of the two sizes label and forgetting about the other. So create label styles for water mains, curb call outs anything you want to annotate.

Link Styles
Link codes are what enable sub-assemblies to connect between the frequency that you set in a corridor. For example all the back of curbs link together in a region of the corridor.
